Lincoln City, OR – Fortunately the weather was perfect, because the crowd spilled out into the parking lot last night as Lincoln City area residents formally welcomed Oregon Coast Bank to the community. Although the bank first opened a Lincoln City branch in temporary quarters during May of 2006, yesterday’s event marked the Grand Opening of Oregon Coast Bank’s new 3600 square foot Lincoln City office.

Guests enjoyed a dinner prepared and served by Oregon Coast Bank staff and members of the bank’s Board of Directors. The menu included cedar plank salmon, oysters on the half shell, hot dogs, coleslaw, fresh baked bread, Mo’s Chowder, and a variety of desserts. Raffle prizes from local businesses were awarded every five minutes by Master of Ceremonies, Wayne Spencer. A variety of additional prizes, including cakes baked by Oregon Coast Bank staff, were awarded through a traditional cakewalk, in which guests were asked to stand on numbers spread throughout the bank and parking lot.

Guests also participated in a challenging local trivia contest. Tim Crenshaw of Lincoln City was the winner of a savings bond, answering all 11 questions correctly. Party-goers were also asked to guess how much money was in a fish bowl. With a remarkable estimate within just 29 cents of the correct answer of $178.66, Sue Philo of Newport won the contest and received the entire amount.

During the ceremonial part of the evening, Cindy McEntee, Vice Chairman of Oregon Coast Bank’s Board of Directors; Fred Postlewait, the bank’s President and Chief Executive Officer; and Eric Greenawald, the bank’s Lincoln City Manager, all thanked the crowd for their support and spoke of Oregon Coast Bank’s commitment to the Lincoln City community. Long-time resident Smoky Young, a part owner of Quade Construction and an Oregon Coast Bank shareholder, was given the honor of cutting the ceremonial ribbon of dollar bills.

“It’s great to be able to celebrate with our customers and meet other folks in the community,” explained Postlewait. “We consider Lincoln City to be a very important market and we’re very pleased to open a permanent office.”

Oregon Coast Bank, which also has offices in Newport, Pacific City and Waldport, has assets in excess of $110 million. Perhaps more importantly, in just the last six years the bank has invested more than $185 million into the communities it serves in the form of loans to local families and businesses. Oregon Coast Bank’s new Lincoln City Office is located at 1298 SW Harbor, just across from the Tanger Factory Outlets.
