Coos Bay, OR — Oregon Coast Bank (OCB) is opening a new branch in Coos Bay this spring, extending its community banking mission down the coast.

Managing the new branch is Dominic Jurado, a seasoned branch manager with approximately ten years’ experience in the role, and an Oregon resident since 2009. “I fell in love with the work,” Jurado said. “The community aspect is what I enjoy the most. I get out and interact with the community, give back, volunteer. That fits with who I am.”

In his new role, Jurado plans to carry OCB’s community mission to Coos Bay, with in-house decisions and local expertise tailor-fit to the industries of the Oregon coast. OCB is there for fishermen, loggers, hospitality businesses, and others that regularly get left behind by conventional financial institutions. “My goal is to establish OCB as the premier coastal bank in the Coos County market,” Jurado said.

“We just want to take care of those communities as best as possible,” Jurado said. “OCB is a true community bank. We want to take care of everyone, and I want to take that culture they’ve built up north and bring it down to Coos County.”

In his spare time, Jurado is active in volunteerism, serving on the boards of Coos Elderly Services and the Salvation Army. He also enjoys spending time with his daughter and son, who are 22 and 16 years old respectively.

Jurado is inspired to be part of a bank that “truly cares about the community and the customers,” where “everyone knows your name.” He said, “We want you to know we’re here for you, no matter what.”

Oregon Coast Bank is the only bank built by and for people on the coast. It was founded when 115 coastal families pooled their resources to build a locally owned and operated bank; its assets now exceed $400M. For decades, OCB has been serving coastal communities, keeping dollars local, and helping businesses succeed.
