Barb Smidt Joins Oregon Coast Bank as Manager of Lincoln City Office
Veteran community banker Barb Smidt has been chosen to manage Oregon Coast Bank’s Lincoln City office. Smidt, a graduate of Iowa State University, has been in banking for more than twenty years, most recently serving as Vice President of Retail Sales and Marketing for First Community Bank in Keokuk, Iowa. Besides managing Oregon Coast Bank’s Lincoln City office, Smidt will also be an active lender.

Bauer Financial, which has reported on the health of the banking industry for 33 years, recently released their Star Ratings Report® to include 4th Quarter 2015 data. Oregon Coast Bank, with offices in Newport, Pacific City, Tillamook, Lincoln City, Waldport and Toledo, received five stars, the nation’s highest possible ranking.

In the rapidly changing financial services industry, locally-owned community banks have become somewhat of a rarity. Over the past several years large regional banks have been aggressive purchasers of the independents. They in turn are hunted by even larger banks. Bank acquisitions typically result in management and staff changes at the local level. As a result customers often become frustrated, having to deal with new bankers and policies.

Teresa Ballhorn Named Manager of Oregon Coast Bank Newport Office
Newport, OR – Teresa Ballhorn has accepted a promotion to become the manager of Oregon Coast Bank’s Newport office. Ballhorn originally joined Oregon Coast Bank seven years ago as a teller. She was soon promoted to the bank’s lending department and was named Assistant Vice President / Commercial Lending in 2013. As manager of the Newport office, Ballhorn will continue to be an active lender.

Angela Warren Named Oregon Coast Bank Tillamook Manager
Tillamook, OR – Longtime area banker Angela Warren has been named Manager of Oregon Coast Bank’s new Tillamook office. With construction underway, the new 1,567 square foot building is scheduled to open during 1st quarter of 2015. The new office will be located at 2211 North Highway 101.

Oregon Coast Bank Reveals New Tillamook Office Plans
Tillamook, OR – Architectural drawings have been completed and construction has begun on the new Oregon Coast Bank Tillamook office. Located at 2211 North Highway 101, the Tillamook office will be the bank’s sixth branch. Since a significant number of Tillamook families and businesses have been banking at Oregon Coast Bank’s Pacific City office for years, the bank’s new Tillamook location will be a convenient addition to the community. The branch is expected to open during 1st quarter of 2015.

Newport, OR – Bankrate.com, an independent financial ratings service, has published their online Safe & Sound® Ratings System including 1st and 2nd Quarter 2014 data. Oregon Coast Bank, which is headquartered in Newport, was awarded five stars, the highest possible ranking. Just three other banks with offices in Oregon received the coveted five star rating.
