Newport, OR – A large crowd of parents, siblings, grandparents and members of the Oregon Coast Bank Board of Directors visited and enjoyed refreshments as the Oregon Coast Bank Childcare Center celebrated its Second Anniversary with an “Art Day” on April 4th.

Recognizing the issues that their employees faced finding good-quality, affordable, daycare, the Newport-based bank became the first financial institution in the state to offer its workers and the community a childcare center in 2011. The well-appointed 1400 square foot center is operated by an independent fully accredited childcare provider, Debbie Provancher, who has more than 30 years of experience.

The Oregon Coast Bank Childcare Center primarily serves the children of employees but is available to children from the community when there are openings. The center is certified to provide care for children between the ages of 1½ months and 12 years. Currently serving 15 children, the center is at capacity.

“Our employees continue to be pleased with the quality of care the center provides,” explained Jill Meengs, Vice President and Manager of Oregon Coast Bank’s Newport office. “Debbie and her staff are great with the kids and provide lots of creative learning activities. The children seem very happy and so do the families.”

Locally owned and operated, Oregon Coast Bank now has more than $175 million in assets and serves a diverse customer base from its offices in Newport, Pacific City, Lincoln City, Waldport and Toledo. The bank has proven to be a reliable source of financing, lending more than $400 million to local families and businesses.
