Tillamook, OR – Longtime area banker Angela Warren has been named Manager of Oregon Coast Bank’s new Tillamook office. With construction underway, the new 1,567 square foot building is scheduled to open during 1st quarter of 2015. The new office will be located at 2211 North Highway 101.
Warren grew up on a local dairy farm and attended Tillamook Bay Community College and Sacramento City College. She began her banking career 24 years ago and has experience as a teller, customer service representative, and branch development trainer. She has managed local Tillamook County bank offices for the past eight years.
A mother of two and a local homeowner, Warren has been active in the Tillamook community. Over the years she has served as a 4-H leader, Tillamook Volleyball Director, and as Treasurer of the Tillamook Chamber of Commerce. She has volunteered for the Mayor’s Ball Committee and the Tillamook High School Charity Drive. Warren was honored as Mrs. Oregon in 2004 and went on to compete in the Mrs. America competition.
So that the bank can deliver the loan services the community needs, Oregon Coast Bank has historically tried to select bank managers who understand the area’s key industries. “Angela is a dairy farmer’s daughter and we consider that important,” said Oregon Coast Bank President Fred Postlewait. “She’s an experienced banker, well known in the community, and we’ll give her the support to be an active local lender. In a few years, when people look back at what the bank has brought to the community, they will be well pleased with what Angela has accomplished.”
“Having the chance to be part of a coastal-owned community bank with such a strong track record was an opportunity I couldn’t pass up,” said Warren. “Oregon Coast Bank has always provided support and lending to small businesses in the communities it serves, particularly to industries that are essential to our local economy like dairy, hospitality, fishing and logging. Those are loans that the big chain banks tend to avoid. We’re going to be a very active lender in Tillamook County.”
Since first opening in Newport during 2002, Oregon Coast Bank has reinvested more than $483 million into the communities it serves in the form of commercial, consumer and real estate loans. The bank’s total assets now exceed $175 million. The new Tillamook office will be the bank’s sixth location, all of which are in small communities along the central coast.
While the new Tillamook office is under construction, Warren is working out of Oregon Coast Bank’s Pacific City office, visiting businesses in the Tillamook area, providing lending and opening new accounts.
