Newport, OR – With the weather cooperating fully, hundreds of Oregon Coast Bank customers gathered on Thursday evening, September 12th, to celebrate the bank’s 10th Anniversary. Oregon Coast Bank board and staff members served while guests dined on cedar plank salmon, fresh oysters from Oregon Oysters, chowder, coleslaw and freshly baked bread from Mo’s and dessert trays by Spring Howard. Wine and Pepsi products were served along with microbrews from Twisted Snout in Toledo and Pelican Brewing of Pacific City.

Seventeen prizes were awarded during an old-fashioned cakewalk in which guests were asked to stand on numbers spread outside and throughout the building. Prizes included gift certificates and baskets from Oregon Coast Bank customers Snack Attack, Oceans Apart Restaurant, River House Salad Dressings, Waldport Ace Hardware, Vickie’s Big Wheel Restaurant and Surftown Coffee, as well as cakes and desserts home-baked by Oregon Coast Bank employees.

Pam Spencer of Newport won $121.53 for having the closest guess of how much money was in a fish bowl. The 10-question Central Coast Trivia Contest was won by Janet Scanlon, who received a gift basket from Newport’s Local Oceans Seafood.

“We felt that the best way to celebrate the success of the bank was with the people that made it possible, our customers,” explained Fred Postlewait, Oregon Coast Bank’s President and Chief Executive Officer. “It’s been a great 10 years and we plan to be serving the communities of the Central Oregon Coast for decades to come.”

Locally owned and operated, Oregon Coast Bank first opened in Newport in 2002. The bank has grown rapidly and now has more than $175 million in assets. Perhaps more importantly for the community, Oregon Coast Bank has proven to be a reliable source of financing, lending more than $390 million to local families and businesses. Besides its Newport headquarters, Oregon Coast Bank has offices in Pacific City, Lincoln City, Waldport and Toledo.
