Newport, OR – The Board of Directors of Oregon Coast Bank has unanimously voted to promote Trevor Downing to the position of Vice President / Information Technology and Jill Postlewait Meengs to the position of Vice President / Newport Office Manager & Commercial Lending.

Downing, who moved to Newport with his family at the age of 12, is a graduate of Newport High School and Oregon State University, where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Engineering. In January of 2005 he began his career at Oregon Coast Bank as a teller and information technology specialist. He has been credited with helping to spearhead the bank’s extensive technological growth. Oregon Coast Bank is now recognized throughout the industry as a community bank at the forefront of hi-tech banking services. When not at the office, Downing spends much of his time working on his home in Toledo.

A native of Newport and a graduate of Newport High School, Meengs earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and an MBA from Oregon State University. After traveling extensively abroad, she came to work at Oregon Coast Bank during 2005 as an Operations Assistant. In January of 2006, she joined the bank’s Loan Department and in December of that year also took on the responsibility of Newport Office Manager. She is heavily involved in the bank’s commercial lending, with particular emphasis on loans for traditional coastal businesses such as fishing, timber and tourism. Meengs cites fishing and traveling as her primary pursuits in her off hours. She and her husband have been featured on OPB’s Oregon Field Guide as they ocean fished in a 13 foot kayak.

“Our bank has enjoyed tremendous growth and Trevor and Jill deserve a lot of credit for their efforts,” commented Fred Postlewait, the Oregon Coast Bank’s President and Chief Executive Officer. Locally owned and operated, Oregon Coast Bank now has more than $145 million in assets and serves a diverse customer base from its offices in Newport, Pacific City, Lincoln City, Waldport and Toledo. The bank has proven to be a reliable source of financing, lending more than $275 million to local families and businesses.
