Newport, OR – The Board of Directors of Oregon Coast Bank recently announced that Jake Postlewait has been promoted to Senior Vice President and Chief Lending Officer. He is based out of the Newport branch, but will be traveling to other branches and even further afield to meet with customers on a regular basis.

Jake graduated from Corvallis High School and attended Oregon State University where he was a standout player and an all-conference selection for the baseball team. He was drafted by the Colorado Rockies and spent several years playing in the minor leagues before beginning his career in banking.

Jake started out in the lending department in Newport in September of 2006. He became the manager of the Toledo branch when it opened in January of 2010. While managing the Toledo branch he made commercial and consumer loans and was the Bank’s Security Officer. After five years at the helm in Toledo, he returned to Newport where he continued to make loans.

Jake and his wife Liz, the Vice Principal at Toledo Elementary School, live in Toledo with their three children. Postlewait is the Treasurer, a Board member and a coach for SET Baseball. He is also a baseball coach for the Corvallis Fall Little League and for Mid Coast Dungy’s American Legion team. Jake currently sits on the Board for Toledo Food Pantry and he has been on the Oregon Dungeness Crab Commission since 2012. He has also served on the Port of Toledo Budget committee and the Port of Newport executive hiring committee. In his spare time, he enjoys taxidermy, hunting, fishing, and golfing.

“Jake’s lending knowledge and experience is important for working with his own customers and for helping new lenders learn and grow as loan officers,” commented Joe Postlewait, President of Oregon Coast Bank. “He is the type of person who does a great job working with current customers on their upcoming needs and with establishing relationship with people who are new to the Bank.” Locally owned and operated, Oregon Coast Bank has grown to more than $200 million in assets. The bank operates offices in Newport, Toledo, Waldport, Lincoln City, Pacific City and Tillamook. With an emphasis on community lending, Oregon Coast Bank has provided more than $600 million in financing to local families and businesses.
