Kiwanda Coastal Properties
After graduating from Nestucca Valley High School, Nicole Twigg wanted to see the world, or at least more of it. She travelled almost 5000 miles to study abroad in London. In her own words, she “made some good choices and a few bad ones” before “settling down” to earn a degree in Marketing and Communications from Portland State University. It was at PSU where she met her husband, ironically an Englishman, David Twigg.
Kottre Tree Farms
Since the work starts at daylight and getting to the jobsites can take up to one and a half hours, they’re definitely early risers. They log five days a week, but with equipment maintenance and paperwork, they always work seven. Yet Steve, Ed, Harold and Jesse Kottre wouldn’t want it any other way.
Lalori & Scott Lager
Lalori Lager is a behavioral health counselor and the owner of the coast’s largest provider of outpatient drug and alcohol treatment. Her husband Scott is a commercial fisherman and vessel owner. In most places, a diverse combination of family businesses like the Lagers own would be rare. But here on the coast, entrepreneurship is a way of life, often a requirement. In fact, Lalori and Scott are as enthusiastic about each other’s businesses as they are their own.
